HELLO SUNSHINE AND FREE TIME :)

Finally done with exams :) how is everyone? I hope everyone is okay, and for all of you who are still taking exams...Gods speed and blessings :) Now I suppose I can officially start writing for the blog since I now have the coming three months with nothing to do. I had started a post about the Anti-Globalization group here in Egypt and thought that I should wait to post it for a number of reasons. I was thinking about the style of our postings in relation to topics, which topics to discuss and how to go about discussing them. I've considered doing research on a certain topic and posting my findings and leaving them for open debate and I've also considered opening up a topic and allowing people to bring to the table whatever they have. Since we are still starting I have decided that I will provide whatever substantial research I have on a certain issue and allow for any further debate by anyone who would like to share. I have also taken into consideration that as time passes and hopefully the blog and its participants grow in number and substance that the blog and its nature will adjust to whatever the nature of contribution will be at the time. It is presently June the 2nd and by tomorrow I will hopefully have a list posted with the issues to be discussed over the time span of the next month and hopefully spark the discussion of our first issue, until then God's blessings and protection,

who are we reaching out to?

Hello All once again, now there's an issue or two to address before we can hopefully get this blog up and running the way I hope it'll go. Who is our target group? Initially the group of people I had in mind was generally anyone and everyone...the Egyptian population, our Egyptian thinkers, intellectuals, activists....However, the simple fact that this blog exists in English and is started by someone who has lived outside of Egypt for a great deal of time automatically seems to target a certain group of people...To widen and broaden the people we reach out to...I hoped to make this blog bi-lingual both posting in Arabic as well as in English...any style of writing, any issue related to our beloved Egypt is welcome...any sort of criticism be it academic, sarcastic, or any other form is welcome...I please urge anyone with an idea to contact me....thank you :)

If you have found this blog...Then you probably are one of the many people that are fed up with our government, with our democratic non-existence, with our government's animalistic approach to human rights, with its total disrespect for anything other than power, corruption, and greed...This my friend, my fellow citizen, my fellow thinker, my fellow activist, my fellow revolutionist, is the place for you...may this be the launch pad for the intellectual exchange needed to form the basis of any form of active change to come in the near future...the change we all crave. The purpose of this blog is to post issues of concern to us Egyptians and to thoroughly discuss these issues and to be able to express ourselves freely since our government can not deal with people with opinions. I'll be waiting for your posts...
